We are always open to receiving new submissions for possible publication. Please understand that we are a nonfiction publisher exclusively. Our preferred genres are narrative nonfiction, true crime, politics and history, philosophy, and popular science. All invited authors are offered competitive royalty rates.

We are a small operation, so appreciate that it may take up to a month to review your query.

Submitting a Query Letter

Although it can seem daunting, putting together a query letter is easy. There is only a little information that we really require. See the following list and, once you have your materials together, submit to Tiddy Smith at: editor AT tarsierpress DOT com.

An Excerpt

As a separate word or pdf document, please attach an excerpt of around 20 pages of the book.

An Overview

Summarize the key theories, ideas, themes or events that your book will cover. Think: What information are you delivering to the public? What do we need to know? What does the book do?

Chapter Summaries

List the chapters and chapter titles of your book, providing paragraph summaries of each.

Market

In this section, discuss a few competing titles and authors. Tell us who the book is intended for and how we might best reach that audience. Include an estimated word count and number of figures.
